Thanks for making this video. I've been fighting the shifter in my 2000 f250 plow truck for years. I replaced the shift cable because it was cheap and easy. I never would've thought about that stupid switch being the problem. It was so bound up, it caused the shift linkage on the transmission to bend where the cable attaches. It shifts smooth as butter now! Wish I would've come across this video 5-6 years ago. Would've saved me a lot of grief😂

It would be great if a man could do some type off swish off mechanism to that transformator you talked about in the beginning .. like som indicator thing that shuts it off ven not needed

You can use the fridge thermostat to power up the inverter instead of the motor directly .

That label on the fridge that says what kind of refrigerant to use also tells you how much it needs, usually in grams or ounces. Simply weight your refrigerant bottle before and during the fill up and when it loses that much weight you know you have enough.

I was hoping to know where Park is. You showed where neutral is underneath but I wasn't sure which direction to move the cable under the truck to be in park. Unfortunately my truck was turned off in drive and now I don't have a frame of reference as I'm replacing the gear shift tube

Instead of cable ties, you can dial in the position if the shift indicator with that little black wheel that’s in front of where he put the cable ties. Spin the wheel and the little orange pointer moves right and left.

So in my case there isn't anything wrong with the sensor. The linkage itself is very tight. It will shift from park to 1st gear fine. But when coming back to park ( meaning now the cable has to push the shift linkage not pull it ) it is very tight and eventually breaks the cable housing at the mounting point just before where it mounts to the transmission shift linkage. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix that ? I have tried lubing up the shaft right where it goes into the transmission and that does help. The shaft isn't removable at least not easily removable. It doesn't bolt on it must be a press fit or there is some kind of key on the inside of the transmission case.

Hi, please remember when converting a previously AC fridge to DC, the thermostat may arc/weld itself in on position. You should attach a properly spec'd capacitor across the thermostat switch. Or build a DC solid state thermostat, or purchase a DC thermostat. Also some fridges have AC condenser cooling and / or internal AC motor driven fans that must be changed over to DC fans.

It would be far simpler to add a second thermal cut-out to the compressor to cut-out the inverter.

I know that it wouldn't be without some electrical engineering.. But why not just replace the motor instead of the whole compressor? My guess is that they are not servicable to that degree? It just seems bogus having to open up the whole refrigeration system and practically rebuild it in order to accomplish this. I don't understand why the price is so egregious for a 12 volt fridge to where there's a whole network of people looking to do this type of thing.

You need a vacuum pump to vacuum the sytem before filling!

@4:11 you show the hold compressor witch seems to be meant to run with R600, then at 8:24 the back of the fridge show R134a. We now often find fridge with R600. Can they be converted with the BD35 danfoss comlpressor ? What about the refrigerant to be used ?

Last year I built my own fridge cabinet in my van. I bought a working donor fridge for $20, i took out the evaporator and installed it in the cabinet that i built. I located the compressor and condenser under the van. I have the compressor hooked up onto an inverter, not very efficient like you mentioned.. im considering switching to 12v compressor from china.

you need a R600a compressor to run propane/isobutane refrigerant

The only one glaringly big problem with this video is that its totally illegal to do unless you have an Fgas certificate and are licensed as a business as a refrigerant handling company. So it’s definitely not DIY unless you want to pay £1000 for a weeks training and then buy all the gear to do it. This should not be on here. Massive fines from the EA in the Uk if you are found handling refrigerants illegally. Nobody should legally sell refrigerant to anyone without a refrigerant handling certificate and through normal channels this is the case.

You should Show the Process because the way you pulled the vacuum was not clear at all so many other options I doubt that Fridge ever got COLD.......JMHO

You have the unit that is on the top of my list it seems like it's affordable and good all together for me it doesn't have to be perfect but I want one I can have trust in and that I will be able to fix the problems which don't seem to be many or major
